Sequel is Live

Hello everyone!

On the Shoulders of Titans, the sequel to Sufficiently Advanced Magic, is finally completed and available on Kindle!

You can find it here.

The paperback edition is almost completed. I expect it’ll only be about another week or two.

The audio book edition will take considerably longer. This is because the audio narrator will need to find time in their schedule to record it now that the book is finished. This could take a number of months; it depends on the narrator’s availability, as well as the amount of time it takes in post-production, etc.

I’m extremely excited to hear what everyone thinks of the new book. Thank you all for the support!

Best,

-Andrew Rowe

  1. I loved the first book, and have been chomping at the bit for the next one all last year, so when I booted up my computer today and saw the RSS feed notice, it was the best birthday present I could have gotten!

  2. Can’t wait for the paperback version to come out so I can actually give you my money 🙂

  3. Great timing, I finished the first book just a couple of days ago! Unfortunately I’m in the UK and Amazon UK doesn’t have the book available as far as I can tell – do you know whether I can buy it from Amazon US or might there be DRM restrictions? Congrats and thanks!

    1. Sorry, scratch that, I just found it after searching again! (I think I had the search limited to paperback versions the first time without realising.) Looking forward to it!

  4. Awesome! My boyfriend and I just finished the audiobook version of the first book today (randomly) and we can’t wait to read the sequel!

  5. Got my copy. Still 2 hours before I get off work and can start reading. Then of course I’ll finish it far too soon and be stuck waiting for volume three to appear… It’s a terrible cycle.

  6. Found it today by spontaneously searching for it. Bought it directly. Cant wait to get home from work to read! =D

  7. Found a bit of a mistake near the start. In the first Duelling class, Corin partners Mara. A few chapters later it says he was paired with Patrick and Mara was with Sera, then carries on as if this had always been the case.

    1. Do you happen to remember the section where that mistake occurs? I’m having trouble finding it. No pressure if you can’t remember, I’m just trying to dig it up.

    2. Is this the line you were talking about? “To prepare for this, Patrick and I should do some two versus one fights against Derek or Keras.”

I can see why that would imply they had been on a team together earlier and cause some confusion.

I didn’t find any other lines like that, but I might have missed something.

      1. Ah, think I found it. Sera follows that with a note that says:

“I’ll plan to do some two versus one training with Patrick as well. ”

This wasn’t meant to imply that they were on the same team before, but rather that they were practicing together because they *expected* Teft to change their teams.

That said, it’s not clear enough, and I’m going to just flip Marissa and Patrick in the two lines and make the necessary adjustments to make everything a little clearer.

Thanks for pointing this out this issue!

      2. Pretty sure that’s the bit. Looking at the sections in isolation, they don’t seem as clear. When I read through it seemed really clear that they had been mixed up, but looking back on it now it just seems open to interpretation.

      3. Okay, cool. I’ll keep an eye out for other errors like that, but please let me know if you see anything else.

Thanks so much, and I hope you enjoy the rest of the book!

  8. Hi, just want to say what a brilliant book the first of this series is and also how much I’m looking forward to reading this second one. Ace job and looking forward to lots more.

  9. I don’t check here often, or really post, but I just wanted to say I’m ridiculously pleased that the title variation I suggested ended up being the final title. Looking forward to the book! (Sadly, I’m waiting on the Audiobook version, since thats how I experienced the first book. After I get it though, I’m planning on picking up paper copies for lending.)

  10. Hmm, do I wait for the inevitably awesome audiobook version, or spring for the paperback now? Or buy both?! It’s a serious conflict!

Is Nick Podehl on for book 2? He did an excellent job on the first one!

    1. I’m also in the looking forward to the audiobook camp, and would love updates on the progress (or lack thereof) on that.

      1. We’re definitely planning to get Nick for the book if we can, but he’s very busy. We’re currently waiting for an open spot in his schedule to record.

  11. Just stumbled across the first book (on audio) and finished it (all 22hrs) in less than 30 total, I couldn’t put it down, apart from sleeping. Do you know how soon you can get on Nick Podehl’s schedule for book 2?

Also.. assuming there will be a book 3, could you set it up to release it in all forms at the same time?

    1. We’re working on getting Nick, but it’ll be a while – he’s very busy.

Book 3 is still a long way off, it’s far too soon to book a date to record it.

  12. Is this the best place to look for audiobook updates? I’m just relistening to the first book and having a blast. So, I’m eager for the audiobook. Thanks for the great story!
